Plant the right crop, at the right time.
A digital databank built for the farmers of Roxas, Isabela. The Municipal Agriculture Office assigns each farmer a season-appropriate, climate-resilient crop — spread across the barangay to avoid a market glut — and the system walks every farmer through planting step by step.
Crop assignment
The Municipal Agriculture Office assigns each farmer a crop to plant, spreading crops across the barangay to prevent oversupply. Farmers confirm their assigned crop and update its status from planting through to harvest.
Oversupply control
Before assigning, the administrator sees how much land is already committed to each crop for that planting window. A recommendation engine scores every crop out of 100 to guide low-glut, season-appropriate choices.
Planting calendar
A month-by-month view of which crops are best planted when, based on the wet and dry seasons of Cagayan Valley.
Planting guidelines
Stage-by-stage instructions from land preparation to harvest, with the number of days after planting for each step.
Advisories & notifications
Weather warnings, pest and disease alerts, and market price notices reach every farmer. Personal notifications tell farmers the moment a crop is assigned and tell the office when a farmer confirms, declines, or updates a planting.
Digital survey
The research instrument used in this study is built into the system, so responses are collected, stored and summarised automatically.
About this project
This system was developed to address the problem of surplus crops among small-scale farmers. When farmers plant the same crops at the same time, oversupply drives prices down and produce spoils before it can be sold. The databank gives farmers organised, data-driven guidance so planting can be spread out across crops and across time.
